Wednesday, June 27 – This is the perfect trip if you’re a Twins fan or baseball fan who has Wrigley Field on your bucket list. It’s also ideal if you’re a baseball fan who can’t take extended time off from work. This day will begin with checking-in at our host hotel near the Minneapolis – St. Paul International Airport. If you are a national traveler, I will send information about making hotel reservations the previous night. The hotel will provide free shuttle service to/from the airport. If you are one of our many Twin Cities area travelers, I will send information about leaving your vehicle at the hotel. All information will be sent by the first of the year. We will depart this morning for Dyersville, Iowa. Here we will have free time to tour the Field of Dreams movie site. If you’ve seen the movie, this may very well be an item to cross off your bucket list. Afterwards, we will depart for our hotel in the upscale Chicago suburbs for the first of three nights in a row. There are restaurants within walking distance, including one who shares a parking lot with the hotel. The Woodfield Mall is also close to the hotel during our stay. It was the largest shopping mall before the Mall of America opened in Bloomington, Minnesota.
Thursday, June 28 – We will depart our hotel later in the morning for the South Side of Chicago, as we will view the Twins take on the Chicago White Sox in an afternoon affair. After the game, we will travel to Navy Pier. There will be free time for sightseeing and an evening meal prior to returning to our hotel for the night.
Friday, June 29 – There will be free time at the hotel to explore many of the nearby attractions, such as the Woodfield Mall. We won’t depart for Wrigley Field until early afternoon, as the Twins/Cubs game has a 4:05 start time. We plan to arrive prior to the gates opening because one of the great experiences in all of baseball is free time in Wrigleyville prior to a game. After the game, we will return to our hotel.
Saturday, June 30 – After having spent three nights in Schaumburg, Illinois, it will be time to return to Minnesota. We will arrive at our original pick-up location by late-afternoon to end the trip.
