Redwood ‘AA’ Tournament: Sunday, June 7

Teams: Redwood Area, Granite Falls, Atwater, NLS, Morris, Belle Plaine

Pool 1, Game 1: 8:30 a.m.

Pool 1, Game 2: 10:15

Pool 1, Game 3: Noon

Pool 2, Game 1: 1:45

Pool 2, Game 2: 3:30

Pool 2, Game 3: 5:15

Championship Game: 7:00

For more information, contact Bob Kaupang at 507.217.1326.

Two game guarantee; $250 entry; pool winners play a third game each in the championship.

All games are 6-innings but no new inning will start after 1 hour and 35 minutes (every inning will be finished, no “hard” stops).

Pool Play Winner(s)… If you go 2-0 in pool play, you win. Ties are allowed. No extra-innings in pool play (even if there’s time because we prefer to run ahead, if possible, than behind schedule). If everyone goes 1-1, the tiebreakers rules are as follows:

*Fewest runs allowed in pool play (if 3 teams are tied, there is no head-to-head tiebreaker).

*Best run differential in pool play (cannot exceed +10 per game).

*If there’s still a tie re: run differential, each coach will choose one player/coach/parent and that person will throw 3 total pitches to 3 different players. Each player will get 1 pitch to hit. If they “take” a pitch because it was thrown poorly, it doesn’t matter (the coach should have picked someone better to throw). Whatever player hits the ball the farthest from home plate – their team wins and advances.

Run Rule: 12 after 3; 10 after 4; 8 after 5

Pitchers can only pitch a total of 4-inning on the day. Those 4-innings can be used in one game or over two games. No pitcher may pitch in 3 different games. One pitch in an inning constitutes a full inning pitched.

There are a few “off” weekends (Sundays) below. Please know we will at least practice, scrimmage or something those Sunday evenings. There may be additional practice times that don’t interfere with the Junior Legion schedule.
