Why is this tour better than others? Our first two nights are spent in the same hotel in Newark. The next two nights are in another hotel between Philadelphia and Baltimore. The fifth and sixth nights are near Boston (*arriving after a probable Yankees day game). The last two nights are in Pittsburgh. This trip balances doing and seeing a lot, while not having to worry about checking into a new hotel every night.

Saturday, August 1: Today you’ll fly into Newark, New Jersey. Our hotel is near the Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR). The hotel will provide free shuttle service from the airport. You can check-into your room anytime after 3:00 p.m. The hotel is next to another hotel with an easily accessible restaurant to enjoy an evening meal if you’d like. Or if you’re ambitious, you can fly in the day before or early this day – on your own – and tour the Statue of Liberty or attend a Broadway Show. Although our hotel is in New Jersey, it’s right across the Hudson River from Manhattan. There are many reasonable means of travel that will take you into the city.

Sunday, August 2: We will travel from our hotel and cross the Hudson River this morning into New York City. We will travel to Citi Field in Flushing (part of Queens) to watch the New York Mets host the Miami Marlins. After the game a fantastic tour guide named Martha is going to meet us at the bus and travel to Manhattan for an evening tour. We will stop at Battery Park so you can get a glimpse of the Statue of Liberty. We will stop at the reflecting pools, which are the footprints of where the Twin Towers were once located. We will also travel through Times Square so you can see the hustle and bustle of the city even on a Sunday evening. Martha will also point out and explain many other sites along the way. We will return to our hotel after the tour.

Monday, August 3: We will depart our hotel later this morning and travel 85 miles to the Historic District in Philadelphia. There will be free time for lunch and to explore the area. I will lead you to the Visitor’s Center and from there you will be able to do many things on your own, such as visiting Independence Hall, seeing the Liberty Bell, explore (Ben) Franklin Court and see the ghost structure of his original home and even see where he’s laid to rest. There’s so much more to explore with the Betsy Ross House being only one more example. When it’s time to leave, we will make a quick pitstop at the “Rocky Statue” and “Rocky Steps” made famous by Sylvester Stallone in filming the Rocky movies. Then it will be time to head to Citizen’s Bank Park to witness the Philadelphia Phillies hosting the Washington Nationals.

Tuesday, August 4: Another day without an early morning departure! We will travel to Fort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine. You will have 35-40 minutes to explore the park and soak in the area connected with our National Anthem (thanks to Francis Scott Key). Then you will have time that afternoon at the Baltimore Harbor. There are many shops and restaurants to keep you busy. Before the short drive to Oriole Park at Camden Yards, we will stop by the Babe Ruth Birthplace and Museum. You will be able to see where “The Babe” lived and many interesting artifacts. This evening you will see Mike Trout and the Los Angeles Angels take on the Baltimore Orioles.

Wednesday, August 5: Yankees games are typically at 1:05 on Wednesdays when it’s the last game of a homestand. If this holds true, we will depart after the game and travel 195 miles to our hotel near Boston.

Thursday, August 6: This day is dependent on the time of the Yankees game the day before. If the Yankees play at 1:05, then we will have a little time in Boston to explore the city that morning before going to Fenway Park. However, as of Sunday, August 31, 2025, I cannot make any promises on the schedule. We will be spending this night in Natick, Massachusetts (most likely for the second night in a row).

Friday, August 7: We will get to the Village of Cooperstown about Noon. There will be time for lunch, visiting the Baseball Hall of Fame, exploring Cooperstown, etc. I will point to Doubleday Field as we drive past on the way to the Hall of Fame. It’s close walk for everyone! That’s another attraction you won’t want to miss! We will have about 4.5 to 5 hours of free time.

Saturday, August 8: Although this will mostly be a travel day, we will not leave early in the morning, nor will we get to Pittsburgh late at night! There will be stops, highlighted by 45-minutes of free time at Niagara Falls. We will get to our hotel in Pittsburgh for the first of two nights in a row to conclude the tour.

Sunday, August 9: PNC Park in Pittsburgh is my favorite baseball stadium! It’s quaint, beautiful, simple and yet majestic. Come see for yourself why this is considered by many the crown jewel of all parks! Even if it’s not your favorite, you will not be disappointed. Even if it’s your favorite, this is a place so great you will want to watch as many games as you can here. It’s that nice! After the game we will travel a short distance back to our hotel to conclude the tour.

Monday, August 10: Wake up in the morning with a smile on your face knowing you had an incredible time as you prepare to travel home with memories that will last a lifetime!
